The Danube Lacrosse League closed its second year on Sunday, June 30, in Graz, Austria. From the overall victory this year, the players of our Bratislava club Tricksters were looking forward to winning the only point ahead of the Vienna Monarchs.
In the final round of the DLL, home gladiators took up against both aspirants for the title. Our boys, who had unexpectedly won Monarchs in the previous round, had a slightly better position. However, even though they came to Graz with the other players, the rulers did not leave anything to chance and won 11:7.
In the second match, the home team played against our boys, who had to win to win the league. The goal began to fill the Tricksters right from the start and the opponents gave no chance. Tricksters clearly dominated and enjoyed the match. By winning 14:1, they secured the title in the Danube Lacrosse League for 2019.
Many thanks go to all teams that fought in the DLL this year for their efforts to develop lacrosse. We are already looking forward to the next year, in which we believe we will see other teams wishing to join in a joint effort to develop lacrosse in their country of friendship and common goal.
