Tricksters finished second in Barcelona

Tricksters Bratislava lacrosse players took second place in Barcelona, Spain when they lost only two games against the same opponent, the American mix team L.O.F.

The tournament was played in sunny Barcelona, just 50m from the sea, so the atmosphere was really holiday. Our lacrosse players entered to the opening match against the favorite of the US tournament L.O.F on Saturday morning. Despite the effort and the fact that they were bothering our opponents, they eventually succumbed to them 6:7.

In the second game of the tournament, our boys measured the forces with the German selection under the name Super Mario. We managed to catch up in the first quarter of the opponent, work out a clear lead that the Germans could no longer react to and lost 6:1.

The decisive match of the first game day was the match against the title defender from Switzerland, called Lisbons. Our boys started well again and quickly made a 5:0 lead, but in the second part of the game, Tricksters lost their concentration and the opponent scored a few lucky goals. Fortunately, the end of the match came, which meant a second victory for our team in the 5:4 at the tournament.

On the second day, our boys opened against the home dragons. It was only a formality, as the home had no chance of progress, but the opposite was true. The contestant rushed at both our and Canadian-American reinforcements and, in addition, the hard and often insidious play that the referees left unnoticed, they decided our players, resulting in a tough and fighting match. Ours got into the lead, but 5 minutes before the end, the opponent managed to score from the power play. However, after a subsequent attack by Trickster, Toma scored a 2:1 victory goal. The third victory in the series was the advance of our team to the final of the tournament, in which they entered orange – black again against L.O.F.

Our players entered the final game better and the first quarter won 2:0, with no chance for the opponent. But Americans entered the second half better when they scored twice during Adam’s exclusion. Then they also scored 3:2, which mentally sank our boys. The contestant then did what he wanted from the match, scored another 3 goals from the quick breaks when our forces were already in the attack. Thus, the Slovaks lost the second match with this opponent in the tournament, 6:2 this time and finished 2nd.

Despite the final loss, Martin Kramár, elected as MVP of the tournament, recorded 13 goals and 3 assists. If someone had guessed before the tournament that ours would get this far, they would all laugh at him, yet the Tricksters once again showed how they could fight, not give up and play against anyone. They represented our club Tricksters in a tournament in far Spain and enjoyed the fun for 4 days near the sea.
