On saturday 15th of June Slovak Lacrosse League played its 3rd round, this time in Nitra region, more specifically in Dolne Lefantovce. In it we saw great game between Skalica Chiefs and Zvolen Punishers
This rounds significance was rised by Major of Dolne Lefantovce who opened the game and autographig of hockey players from HK Nitra, thanks to which the game had nice number of spectators.
From the beggining the game was being played in high tempo, as both teams got into some really nice opportunities to score and were deffending reponsibly. Even tough the game was fast, the spactators saw only two goals in the first quarter, one for each team.
The second quarter started with the same speed as the first one, but Zvolen started to show its dominance. When they got the ball, they stayed in the attacking half more and were more responsible on the defense. Skalica didnt get into any big chances, and after the first hald the score was 3:2 for Zvolen. During halftime a small competition took place for children, where they could win a shirt for new establishing lacrosse club Nitra Warlords.
Third quarter was once again in Zvolens charge. Skalica came to the game with good squad, but they lacked their best shooter, Ivan Černák. Their second best shooter, Marek Havlík tried to make some plays, but Zvolen was shutting down his team mates and his only option was to play one on one. Skalica managed to score one goal, but Zvolen responded with three on their own. At the end of third quarter the score was 6:3 for Zvolen.
Fourth quarter was slower thanks to the hot weather and thanks to Zvolens control of the game. When Zvolen got into attacking half, they held the ball and so Skalica wouldnt have an opportunity to score. By the end of the fourth quarter Zvolen scored one more goal and sealed Skalicas fate. Zvolen won quite decisively 7:3.
